Bill of Rights Day 2002

The annual Bill of Rights Day Celebration will be held on December 14, 2002 at the Pulliam Building 524 North Cleveland from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The evening will begin with a potluck dinner at 6:00 PM. After dinner, we will discuss the past, present and future of the Bill of Rights. The Fife and Drum Corps will be providing entertainment.

If you are concerned that the War on Terrorism will erode our already fragile Bill of Rights and would like to find out what others are doing to preserve our way of life, this event is for you.

The Founding Fathers knew that the key to a strong nation was individual sovereignty and a limited government. Government's only purpose is to ensure our liberty from all enemies foreign and domestic.

There will be presentations and activities throughout the evening, such as:

Mike Beggs, of the Constitutional Corner will be giving a presentation concerning a project to produce a series of videos for local public television. The emphasis will be on teaching the Constitution.

Members of the Northern Colorado Fife and Drum Corps are planning to have a monthly event featuring a special date in history from each month. They are looking for ideas and help in this endeavor.

Kirk Anamier, an accomplished actor and a member of the fife and drum corps will be portraying 'A Visitor from the Past', an essay by Thelen Paulk. It is about a Revolutionary War figure that appears in the present and wonders where the freedom they fought for is.

The Second Amendment Sisters will present the Eddie Eagle gun safety program for children. Bring the children along so that they may be educated on what to do if they ever find a firearm.

There will be an open discussion of the waning of our rights and some speakers to be named.

There will also be information tables set up by various groups.

We will be collecting winter clothing and gifts for the needy. Please bring your unused coats, gloves, hats or sweaters to help keep someone warm this cold winter season.

Stay tuned to this page for further updates as they become available
