Mother's Day Rally, Loveland, Colorado
The Second Amendment Sisters, Northern Colorado Chapter held a rally at North Lake Park in Loveland on Mother's Day. The event was extremely successful. There were over 130 people in attendance.
After dinner the crowd was informed by several speakers including Larimer County Sheriff Jim Alderden, Larimer County Commissioner Tom Bender. Jim Alderden gave a talk on concealed carry permits and Tom reported on plans for a new shooting range in Larimer County. Other speakers included Craig Weeks, Crystal Albertus and Tom Buchanan. Topics ranged from the importance of the Constitution, self defense, becoming informed and personal responsibility once you are informed.
Many of those in attendance were NRA members who heard about the event at the Friends of the NRA banquet just the night before. The event drew people from Colorado Springs and Winter Park and even one couple from Chicago who was visiting friends. They were given pocket Constitutions to take back home with them. At least we know there are two copies of the Constitution in the Windy City.
Several new members signed up and every one was informed of upcoming events. The next major event is Independence Day. The Second Amendment Sisters will be participating in different activities throughout Northern Colorado. The first stop of the day will be the Greeley Independence Day parade which begins at 9:00 AM, followed by lunch at the American Freedom Networks annual picnic in Johnstown. After dinner the entourage will head for North lake park in Loveland to join 20,000 other folks to enjoy a spectacular fireworks display.
