Corruption Crisis
We are overwhelmed and living in a constant state of crisis. Every day we seem to have another one. We have been told we have a crisis in housing, global warming, health care, banking, etc, and the list goes on in every aspect of our lives. I contend that these are mere manifestations and only a symptom of the real crisis that needs to be addressed immediately and will stop the plague of crisis that has taken over our great nation. The real crisis is corruption! We have allowed our elected officials to circumvent the Constitution and in doing so strip us of our rights. Why is it so important that we pass a health care reform bill just for the sake of passing something? The answer is quite obvious, it must be passed before the American people realize what is going on and have no time to stop it. The health of our nation is at stake! What bothers me and others is how blatant the corruption is. On the recent heath care vote Democrat Senators Landrieu and Nelson agreed to vote for the bill if they were given perks. Their votes were for sale! President Obama promised us a transparent government. He promised non-partisanship and open debate on heath care. What Americans got were Democrat only arm-twisting meetings behind closed doors. Hardly the bill of goods America was sold. It should be apparent to anyone with common sense, the president is nothing more that a slick politician. So, before we tackle any on crisis that some politician has conveniently labeled for us let us strike a stake into the root of the problem and that is corruption. If we concentrate on eradicating corruption the rest of the crisis will crumble. "The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by an endless series of hobgoblins; all of them imaginary." - H.L. Mencken, 1923 Tom Buchanan
