Serious Homeland Security

We need some serious Homeland Security, something we can see. Secure our borders with real troops. We do not need to be dazzled with hocus pocus software that we are suppose to embrace like a child with a tattered security blanket.

If there is a true threat to our security, then take off the soft gloves of political correctness and come out fighting with bare knuckles. If a rabid dog is running loose in the neighborhood the first thing one does is get a description of the dog so that when recognized it can be eliminated. If it is a big black dog, one does not kill all dogs to ensure the elimination of the rabid one.

The power granted to the government by the Patriot Act and the Department of Homeland Security has the ability to treat every American the same as a rabid terrorist. We will not even know whom we are not supposed to be paying attention to behind the curtain.

The two jet liners crashing into the World Trade Center has been etched into our minds forever. In the aftermath, the press was obnoxious with a seemingly never-ending barrage of questions of 'Who knew what when?' There were those who suspected that because of our foreign policy a terrorist attack of that magnitude was looming on the horizon. The rest of America ignored the warnings.

Many today are shouting from the street corners, across the internet, and on the airwaves about the threat to our Constitution and Bill of Rights in the guise of security. There will be a time when we come to the sober realization that government has taken away all of our God given Rights. We will each experience that moment on a personal level. That time too, will be etched in our minds. We will, however, be terrorized by fear of our government because it has too much information on its subjects. When reflecting on how we let our liberty fade away, we will then be asking the same question; 'Who knew what when? The difference will be that there will be no reporters hammering these questions home because the government will have their information too.

So we must demand that our government show some real fortitude and enact some homeland security and desist from micturating in a descending fashion on our dorsal region and telling us it is raining.
